How do I refund a customer's account?

Just a reminder — only Admins can process refunds in the Merchant Portal. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Use the search bar on the left of the activity center (next to Consumer Activity) or go to Opportunities to find the customer by name or ID number.
  2. Click on the customer’s name.
  3. Then, click the three dots (•••) on the right side of their name and choose Refund.
  4. Pick the transaction you'd like to refund.
  5. You'll be asked whether you'd like to refund the full amount or a different amount.
  6. Once you've entered the amount, you'll get a chance to double-check everything before hitting Confirm.

Refunds usually take a few days to go through. While it's processing, you'll see the status marked as pending, and once it's finalized, both you and the customer will get a confirmation email.
