How do I refund a customer's account?
See step-by-step instructions on issuing a refund
Just a reminder — only Admins can process refunds in the Merchant Portal. Here’s how to get started:
- Use the search bar on the left of the activity center (next to Consumer Activity) or go to Opportunities to find the customer by name or ID number.
- Click on the customer’s name.
- Then, click the three dots (•••) on the right side of their name and choose Refund.
- Pick the transaction you'd like to refund.
- You'll be asked whether you'd like to refund the full amount or a different amount.
- Once you've entered the amount, you'll get a chance to double-check everything before hitting Confirm.
Refunds usually take a few days to go through. While it's processing, you'll see the status marked as pending, and once it's finalized, both you and the customer will get a confirmation email.
